About the role
Our client is looking for an Accountant to join their team. Salary: USD 1,200 Gross Responsibilities; Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, earnings reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Maintain accurate books of accounts, including general ledger, cashbooks, and journals. Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and provide insights to management for better decision-making. Develop and manage budgets, track spending, and forecast future financial needs.
Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Xperdyte with a parallel costing in Excel for ease of costing simulations Carry out manufacturing processing in Xperdyte based on production feedbacks completed by the manufacturing team Support pricing decisions through cost analysis. Track inventory levels, conduct stock reconciliations, and investigate variances. Ensure proper valuation of raw materials, finished goods, and consumables. Track, investigate and report on production variances (raw material usage variances, labour efficiency variances etc).
Track, investigate and report on production output yields as compared to raw material input Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and tax laws, prepare tax returns, and conduct internal reviews. Review PAYE, VAT, NSSA, and other statutory returns and check that they are submitted on time. Support internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations. Reconcile bank statements.
Manage accounts payable, including ensuring timely payments are made in line with terms agreed Manage accounts receivable, , invoicing, and collections to maintain healthy cash flow and Review payroll costs and processing. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools. Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records. Key Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG. Proficiency in Sage, Xperdyte an added advantage.
High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIS) is an added advantage. Minimum of 3-5 years' accounting experience, preferably in health, hygiene, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors. Experience working in a branch or plant environment is an advantage.
