About the role
Vacancy Announcement No. 3 of 2026 (Ref. HR/004/26). Grade: C4. Reports to: Provincial Coordinator. Stations: Hwange (Matabeleland North) and Chinhoyi (Mashonaland West). (2 posts.) Job purpose To monitor, inspect and assess the observance of human rights and freedoms and administrative justice. Duties and responsibilities a. Identify key and topical human rights issues, develop and update monitoring tools, draft concept notes and activity costings, conduct monitoring missions, prepare monitoring reports, and update recommendations and implementation trackers. b.
Develop monitoring tools for detention facilities, draft concept notes and budgets, conduct interviews and collect data through observation, and draft reports benchmarked against international and regional standards. c. Share reports with stakeholders, plan and convene meetings, update trackers on implementation of recommendations, and prepare engagement meeting reports. d. Develop and update monitoring tools, examine the Government Gazette to identify bills for monitoring, and draft analytical reports. e.
Draft concept notes, prepare invitations to stakeholders, attend meetings and workshops, compile minutes, and implement activities. f. Identify Concluding Observations and Recommendations from State Party Reports, participate in drafting State Party reports, draft Alternative Reports, and organise validation meetings. g. Delegate work, provide feedback, conduct and review performance appraisals, provide technical guidance on investigations, mentor subordinates, enforce policy adherence, and take disciplinary action when required.
