This role involves supervising the development and implementation of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing process efficiencies and improving service delivery. The Manager will cultivate collaboration, experimentation, innovation, creativity, and effective problem-solving among development teams. Define and drive team goals by collaborating with stakeholders to understand process automation product objectives, tracking progress, and providing support to the development team to ensure successful goal delivery.
Lead development teams in the design and development of applications, tools, and automated solutions to optimize business processes and enhance service delivery, including oversight of code reviews, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring. Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal partners and peer stakeholders to understand and address their business needs effectively. Provide hands-on development support, mentorship, coaching, and professional development to cultivate highly talented engineers, while also training engineers on best practices and driving operational excellence.
Direct and supervise research into emerging and disruptive technologies, such as AI, IoT, AR, VR, and cloud computing, and develop innovative application prototypes to demonstrate their potential adoption to development teams. Collaborate with business and system analysis functions, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure successful project completion through effective resource allocation, timeline management, project progress monitoring, and bottleneck resolution for innovation and software development initiatives.
anage and define project scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Ensure strict adherence to software development and version control methodologies, frameworks, international standards, and best practices. Oversee the design and implementation of integration strategies between business systems, adhering to software development best practices and leveraging the latest technologies. Work closely with senior management to develop annual operational plans and budgets for technology innovations, enterprise application development, and support.
Develop and monitor innovation and enterprise application development policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with overall Technology Innovations and Development Department objectives and best practices. Ensure rigorous testing and quality assurance processes are implemented to deliver high-quality software and technology solutions. Develop an Applications Development and Innovation Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for all innovations and manage intellectual property to ensure robust Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) are in place.
Manage deployments on both cloud infrastructure (e.g., government cloud) and on-premises infrastructure efficiently. Promote and implement automation across all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including code building, testing, deployment, and monitoring, using agile methodologies. Champion the adoption and implementation of agile methodologies by development teams in both innovation and application development projects. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
Professional certifications in software development or related disciplines are considered a valuable asset. Demonstrated strong leadership skills in driving innovation initiatives within a corporate environment, coupled with creative thinking and excellent communication, collaboration, and project management abilities. Proven experience in innovation and software development roles, with a minimum of four years in a managerial or lead capacity within a related environment.
Advanced proficiency in software development frameworks, tools, and technologies, including Java, PHP, Python, ASP.NET, C#, Hibernate, Spring/Spring Boot, Laravel, Node.js, Ajax, Flutter, Django, and Flask. Comprehensive understanding of software development principles, the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile methodologies. Advanced proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with database design, data modeling, and query optimization in relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server, as well as NoSQL databases.
