About the role
Position : Compliance Officer Station : Lotteries and Gaming Board. Reports to : Compliance Manager. The Lotteries and Gaming Board, established under the Lotteries and Gaming Act (Chapter 10:26), is mandated to regulate and supervise the lotteries and gaming industry in Zimbabwe. The Board invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the position of a Compliance Officer. Key Responsibilities To ensure compliance to the Lotteries and Gaming Act [Chapter 10:26] and all related regulations by licensed operators, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the industry in Zimbabwe.
Conducts effective data analysis using relevant tools and techniques to detect anomalies, fraud, money laundering and other suspicious activities. Prepares comprehensive, factual and legally sound investigative reports with detailed findings, analysis, conclusions and recommendations for law enforcement measures or referrals to relevant authorities such as the Financial Intelligences Unit (FIU). Processes gaming licenses under the Act with respect to casinos, gaming houses, bookmakers, lotteries, totalizators and raffles. Ensures that all licensees abide by the terms and conditions of their licences.
Qualifications and Experience A first degree in Risk, ICT, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Information systems audit, Forensics or related field. At least 3-5 years' experience in compliance, preferably in a public sector or regulatory environment. Attributes Excellent communication and report writing skills. High ethical standards and commitment to transparency. Strong investigative skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
