eRecruitment — University of Zimbabwe eRecruitment University of Zimbabwe Search Go Account Sign In Register Job Listings Post-Doctoral Fellow- Biodiversity And Wetland Ecosystems Back to Listings Post-Doctoral Fellow- Biodiversity And Wetland Ecosystems FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND FOOD SYSTEMS • Institute Of Environment, Climate & Sustainable Development 1 Post Key Responsibilities Provide scientific research leadership in high-impact studies on wetland ecology and climate change.

Manage the full research lifecycle from conceptual design and data modelling to publishing in top-tier journals and securing external grants. Act as a primary liaison between the University and the public on biodiversity and wetland conservation and management issues. Develop and pilot data-driven conservation tools and decision support systems to create Morden solutions for biodiversity monitoring and ecosystem management. Draft policy briefs and strategic recommendations that covert research outcomes into sustainable biodiversity conservation frameworks and national wetland management policies.

Any other duties an may be assigned by the Director. Required Qualifications A PhD in a relevant discipline such as Ecology, Environmental Science, Hydrology. Conservation Biology, Natural Resource Management or related field (degree must have been awarded within the last 5years). A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, commensurate with the career stage. Demonstrated proficiency in advanced quantitative methods, statistical programing (e.g. R, Python), and /or geospatial analysis (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine).

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with proven ability to communicate effectively with both scientific and non-technical audiences.
